Home Learning Expectations - Woodley CofE Primary School
Work is set to help secure knowledge into long term memory. We do not expect children to be completing 'new' learning at home which can often cause difficulties. All reading comprehension work is differentiated (set to the ability of the child) - please contact the school if you feel that any homework is not right/too difficult.
Reception - (Willow & Chestnut)
English
Reading
- School book - 5x per week, signed in diary.
Maths
- Maths games sent home for children to play with families
Year 1 & 2 - (Fir, Oak, Ash)
English
Reading
- School book - 5x per week, signed in diary.
- If pupils have finished RWInc then they quiz completed reading books at home and at school on Accelerated Reader website.
- Comprehension work - (20minutes maximum to be spent on this) for children who have completed RWI scheme
Spelling - Spellings sent home weekly and tested each week.
Maths
- Games for children to play at home should they not be ready for the Freckle Curriculum
- Freckle Maths Online - weekly - (20minutes maximum to be spent on this)
- Task set to do with current work in class
- Task set to complete 'Adaptive Practice' - (where the software sets work at the level the child is working at)
- TTRockstars - to be used if children complete Freckle work quickly.
Year 3 & 4 (Maple, Rowan & Cedar)
English

- School book - 5x per week, signed in diary. Pupils quiz completed reading books at home and at school on Accelerated Reader website.
- Comprehension work - weekly - (25minutes maximum to be spent on this)
Spelling - Spellings sent home weekly and tested each week.
Maths
- Freckle Maths Online - weekly - (25minutes maximum to be spent on this)
- Task set to do with current work in class
- Task set to complete 'Adaptive Practice' - (where the software sets work at the level the child is working at)
- TTRockstars - to be used if children complete Freckle work quickly.
Year 5 & 6 - (Aspen, Sycamore, Silver Birch)

Spelling - Spellings sent home weekly and tested each week.
Spelling and Grammar (SPAG) - Y6 only in preparation for SATs testing.
