School Organisation

The school organisation may vary from year to year according to the size of each year group.

Each class has either a full time or part-time teaching assistant as well as the teacher. In addition, each department (Foundation/Key Stage 1, Lower Key Stage 2, Upper Key Stage 2) has additional support staff to support children with special needs. Each teacher is responsible for the progress and work of each child in the class and all staff have a corporate responsibility for the pastoral care of the children. The welfare of all children at Woodley CE (Controlled) Primary School is of paramount importance and we strive to provide a safe and secure environment in which they can flourish.

Teachers work co-operatively so that their particular interests and specialisms, as well as space and equipment are used in the most effective way. Additional staff are employed to provide preparation, planning and assessment teacher release time.
